Early Friday morning, Valve released the next update for the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test. This includes, among other things, the redesigned map Inferno as well as news about MR12.
The latest update to Counter-Strike 2 brings three fundamental innovations . A ranking system declared as “CS Rating” for the competitive mode, Inferno in the new CS2 face and the decision to play MR12 in major tournaments in the future.
CS RATING: “BEYOND GLOBAL”
Valve presented the new ranking system with a short video. Within the competitive Premier mode, players are now listed on seasonal, regional and global leaderboards. There will also be a pick and ban option in this mode as well as map-specific skill groups.
Also included in the update is the map Inferno, which can now be seen in the redesign for the first time. In addition, Valve announced that they now want to start inviting as many eligible players as possible to the Limited Test.
MR12 IS COMING BACK
Another innovation is the MR12 mode, which has been discussed for some time and was also used in CS 1.6 in the past. This means that only twelve rounds will be played per half instead of the previous 15. Valve says it wants to establish this mode in the Premier, Competitive and Major areas in the future. The number of rounds in overtime should remain at six.
"We expect the design and stream of matches to advance after some time as the local area adjusts. And we're excited to see where this goes," Valve's statement concluded.
