AONIC 50 Gen 2 by Shure - Bluetooth Over-Ears with 3D Audio and ANC

Big update to the Shure AONIC 50 Gen 2 Over-Ear Headphones! The manufacturer has more than doubled the battery life, improved active noise canceling and installed the latest HiRes audio codecs. In addition, the headphones now simulate 3D audio. There is also a new bright green special edition of the classic SE215 - one of Shure's  most popular in-ear monitoring models .

A good three years ago , Shure introduced its consumer headphones with the AONIC series . Now the manufacturer has presented a significant update to the flagship: AOINIC 50 Gen 2! And that's what it's all about. Compared to its predecessor, Shure has more than doubled the battery life to 45 hours . Plus you get 5 more hours with just 15 minutes of charging using the quick charge function . Wow!


Shure has also worked on active noise canceling. The new hybrid ANC should at the same time better attenuate noise and, via the environment mode (usually called transparent mode by other manufacturers), ensure that you can hear the surroundings if you wish. The manufacturer has now implemented 3D audio in the AONIC 50 Gen 2.

You can choose between music, cinema and podcast mode . And in cinema mode, the closed over-ears simulate three-dimensionality. And this should be possible without acoustic artifacts.

The AONIC 50 Gen also supports a whole range of audio codecs for playback of high-resolution audio material with Qualcomm aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, AAC, SBC and Sony LDAC . If you connect the headphones via USB-C, it even goes one step further. Because here the AONIC over-ears can convert with up to 32 bit/384 kHz .


The AONIC 50 Gen 2 works wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.1 with a range of 10 meters. It's a shame that Shure hasn't already implemented Bluetooth 5.2. This would allow connections to several end devices. But then there is room for the next update.


The manufacturer has also introduced a special edition of its very popular in-ear monitors : in bright green! The special model is similar to the normal versions in all technical details . But optically, the in-ears are a real announcement.
